It doesn't get much cheaper than free.

Charlotte has some phenomenal museums. And many of them are FREE on Wednesdays after 5. The Mint museum (both locations) and the Bechtler museum open their doors to anyone after 5 on Wednesdays, it's hard to pass up this cheap date night opportunity.

The Uptown Mint currently has an incredible exhibit on the photography of Annie Leibovitz. It's striking to me how one person could share space with such a wide variety of influential people, and with their storytelling shape a public perception of culture across generations.

I was also amazed how even though I didn't know about the artist, I knew her work; that's how iconic she has been in the last 50 years of American culture.
