It's almost one of my favorite times of year

Posted: August 08, 2025

I enjoy all of the seasons, but there are two times a year I love the most. Springtime, particularly mid March to late April in Charlotte, is delightful. And as Summer starts to wind down: from late August until around Halloween is just a magical time of year.

I love the time from mid March to late April, when it is effectively turns into Springtime. The downside in Charlotte is while I just want to open my windows and let the warmer air in, I can't really do so without literally coating the wall with pollen. But before the pollen hits, it's incredible. It's also the start of MLB Spring Training, and the MLS season is kicking off. There is generally a lot of excitement for what's to come.

I really love Spring, but Fall is my favorite. After the heat (and the humidity!) starts to cool off, it starts to be nice to be outside again. As Summer wraps up you might enjoy a cooler day hiking all the many trails in the Charlotte region. The leaves begin to change color — it can look like an explosion of orange yellow and red. As the baseball season winds down there is nothing better than watching October baseball. The piles of leaves, the scary movies on TV. The cool mornings and nights, with warm afternoons in-between - it truly feels amazing.
